The Portsmouth History Center Project
As part of the Portsmouth 375th celebration funds were collected to conduct celebration events, but also to help the town preserve its rich history and afford the means to get information on our town heritage.
The Portsmouth History Center Project that was managed by the Portsmouth 375th Steering Committee is now being managed by the Portsmouth 375th Legacy Group and is dedicated to the preservation of Portsmouth history.
A dedicated area has been established as the “Portsmouth History Center” within the Portsmouth Free Public Library.
The Portsmouth History Center Project has also funded a dedicated computer system with video-teleconferencing equipment to help research Portsmouth history and provide a communications tool to interact with other people around the world with common interests.
Portsmouth History Center Officially Opened on November 1, 2014
